Winter Confusion

I think our seasons are confused... One day we have gorgoues weather, I'm talkin 54'.  We're playing outside like it's Spring and then the next morning we wake up to this

Freezing cold and  snow.  I don't understand.  Well I guess I'll be happy with the nice weather when we have it.  Don't get me wrong. I love the snow, but I wish the weather would make up it's mind.

Make sure you do something for someone that you love today, and don't forget to do something fun for yourself.  I made red/pink pancakes for the kiddos this morning.  We are going to have our traditional Valentines Day dinner tonight.  You know, heart shaped and red/pink everything, with candles, the whole works.  Not to mention too much chocolate.....  So enjoy your day!

Orange and Gray

Here's a sneak peek of a new quilt I'm getting ready to make.  Don't you just love the colors???  This will be a little different for me, kind of "out of the box" type thing.  But, once in awhile, you need to get out of your comfort zone and try something new.  Wish me luck and just keep sewing!!

Skinnies Shopping..

Just finished a quilt yesterday, which I just love and can't let you have a peek yet.   So I had to go out and buy more fabric.  I was out shopping for new Skinnies fabrics when I get a phone call from the school telling me one of my boys is hurt and bleeding.  This is a phone call we never want to get, Yikes!!   I was 30 mins away.  Luckily the shop I was at let me drop everything and run.  I made it to the school in 21 mins, no I didn't speed, mostly.  He's got an 1 1/2" gash on the top of his head.  So we are headed to the doctors for stitches/glue/tape.  Bummer, but my son is OK. (big sigh).  His biggest worry is that he won't be able to play basketball for a few days.

Winterfest 2012 - WOW!!!

WOW!  Winterfest 2012, What a great retreat.  I was able to go this weekend and teach a couple of classes.  The retreat was held at Daniel Summit Lodge in Heber UT.  Here are some photos of my adventures.

Here's the front on the lodge.  It started to snow when I was driving up there on Thursday night.  It snowed til around midnight and woke up to beautiful clear blue skies and bitter cold temps. 

Glad I was inside the whole time.

 This is my room.  It was totally cozy and comfy.  I got to again.

 It even had a fireplace, which I had on the whole time!!!

It was a total blast to go and meet all these great women and have a wonderful time.  If you have a chance to go, sign up and attend next year, same time, same place.   You won't be disappointed!!!!

 I meet a couple of gals, Kris Thurgood, she runs a new quilt shoppe in Logan UT, called "My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe". You have to check it out!  And I meet Kim Christopherson, her sister who designs patterns.  Awesome people.  They have super ideas and, I mean look at the shop, who wouldn't want to go there.  They asked to me come in do a trunk show soon.  I can't wait! 

All in all great weekend....met wonderful people, ate yummy food, talked quilting, had chocolate and got to spend time in a cozy lodge with a fireplace.  What a life! (smile). 

Let it Snow

Look what I  finished last night!  I love it and was so excited to get it done and on my table.  I have this obsession with table runners/toppers now.  So I plan on doing a lot more. (grin)  This one is done using the "Tossed 9 patch" block, I just added some sashing.  I used 2 charm packs and then yardage for the sashing and binding.  The fabric line is "Ready, Set, Snow" by Moda. I like it because it's bright and cheerful, helps when it's all dreary and drab outside.  Must go sew.....enjoy!

Can't seem to get it going

I don't know about you, but I'm having a hard time this year getting my rear in gear and getting everything done.  I'm defiantly staying busy with everything I'm doing, but I feel like I'm on a treadmill, running like crazy but getting no where fast.  Anyone else feel this way???

So I've devised a plan and it's starts tomorrow.  The rest of my week is planned, so we'll see what happens.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Resolutions

How many resolutions have you made for this year???  

  Are you overwhelmed already? 

Have you made too many?

Here are some of mine.  I'd like to hear about yours.

  I decided to stick with some pretty basic ones,

1. Eat healthier, I mean I eat pretty well I just have to get the chocolate kisses out of my sewing room either that or I eat them all, grin

 2.  Start my workouts again (I've had to stop for a while due to a pinched nerve in my neck)

3.   Be a better mom. Spend more time with the kidos

4.  Make all the holidays more fun for the family

 Of course last years resolutions of getting caught up on all my craft projects, scrapbooking all my photos (HA! like that's going to happen in this life time, but I guess I can dream ;)

and getting my house painted has been pushed to this year.  So wish me luck and here we go!
