Alaskan Cruise - Day 4

Still cruising and lovin' it!!!  Classes began at 9 in the sewing room.  This was part 2 of the Alaskan Sampler quilt.  Those who were able to get their images fused, were able to start stitching on them.  We cruised to Glacier Bay and Oh my gosh it was AMAZING!!!  Some of us skipped out of class (for just a bit) to take pictures and see the beauty of this magnificent glacier.

We are coming up on the main glacier, it's on the left.
The glacier in the top right corner was enormous, like a giant slide!
We didn't get too close to that one.
Here we are coming up on Margerie Glacier.
I'm thinking that it's not that big, boy was I wrong!!
We stayed in this bay for almost 2 hours.  In the picture below there was a small cruiser that went closer to the glacier, but the ship was so small it was hard to see, but it did give us a perspective on how really massive this glacier is.  Unbelievable!!  The Margerie Glacier is 21 miles long, 1 mile wide.  It is 350 ft high with 250 feet above the water and 100 feet below.  Pretty amazing right?!
I loved to see the blue in the ice.
One of the local creatures decided to catch a ride......heheheh.
Can you believe, that is a bald eagle.  He was just sitting on an ice berg that was floating by the ship.

Way cool is see the glacier "calving"  I was hoping that we would be able to see it and we did!!

This is an ariel view of the glacier I got on line so we could see how huge this thing is. Pretty impressive!

Wow, what a day.  So exhausting seeing all those glaciers. (grin).
I can't wait to go again!  Another great day!

I got a face lift!

Yes and it's about time!!!  I've been meaning to change things up a bit and I finally did.  What do you think?  Do you like the new colors?  Should I go with something different?  What do you suggest?  Give me your thoughts.  Thanks for your help!

Are you surprised that I bought fabric???  Just love it!

Alaskan Cruise Day 2

All day classes!  Started with the Wilderness Skinnie and ended with the Forget Me Not Wool Candle mat

We were at sea all day and unfortunately it was a pretty rough ride with the cross winds.  I lastest about an hour in class and then I got to "tour" the medical facility and get a shot for motion sickness.
Great memory right?!?
All my students were very understanding and they had a great sub teacher, June Dudley!!
 Here's the project we did.

Stay Tuned for Day 3 with more pictures and adventures

Alaskan Cruise - Day 1

The fun has begun!!!!
We left from Seattle on the Holland America, Westerdam.
The Quiltmaker Block Party at Sea was a total BLAST!!!
I couldn't believe how huge the ship was.
My hubby got to come with me.  There's Seattle in the background.  The weather was simply gorgeous!!!
Here we are in the Queen's Lounge on deck 2 for the open reception.
June Dudley brought us (the teaching staff) up and asked what our Quilting Super Power was. You don't get asked that everyday.   I had to think fast and came up with, "I can fuse in my sleep".
 What's your Quilting Super Power?
A nice surprise was waiting for me in my stateroom.  Aren't they beautiful?
Stay tuned for more to come.

Market Pictures

Can you believe it?!?!  I haven't posted market pictures yet. Take a look at the fun we had.
My booth with some lights.  We had trouble with lighting so we called our booth "The Bat Cave"

All the crazy quilters waiting to get into Sample Spree, some waited for 3 hours in line.
One Crazy Old Lady  with me showing off her newest fabric line
"Rustique"
Got to love The Warm Company....  can't live without them for Steam-A-Seam and batting.
Thanks Dawn and Lindsay
We are working the "Warm" sign.  "Live long and quilt"???
One of the newest Skinnies from "Snuggle in Winter"
Ackfeld Wire has the coolest hanger, it's a mantel stocking hanger
with the nativity all in a row.
We put a rod in the Skinnie sleeve and placed it on the hooks for the
 stockings and it fit perfectly.
Janice, me and Janet from Hill Creek Design.
Theses two gals are the makers of all the great buttons I use on all my quilts
Thanks!!
Again, another market that was fabulous and fun!!!
