Father's Day cobbler

Just thought I would share one of our favorite Father's Day desserts with you
Blueberry Cobbler
1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
2 cups fresh blueberries
2 cups boiling water

Mix altogether in mixing bowl.  Pour into greased 9 x 13 glass pan.  Spread out the dough so it's even
Spread blueberries on top of the dough.  Sprinkle 1 cup sugar over the berries.  Pour 2 cups boiling water over everything.  Bake at 350' for 35-45 mins (depending on your oven).  The dough will rise to the top.  Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.  Enjoy!
Have a great weekend and enjoy Father's Day!

  1. Is there 1 cup sugar in the dough and 1 cup sugar sprinkled over the blueberries? This sounds so delicious and I want it to be right.
