Alaskan Cruise - Day 1

The fun has begun!!!!

 We left from Seattle on the Holland America, Westerdam.  

The Quiltmaker Block Party at Sea was a total BLAST!!!

I couldn't believe how huge the ship was.

 My hubby got to come with me.  There's Seattle in the background.  The weather was simply gorgeous!!!

 Here we are in the Queen's Lounge on deck 2 for the open reception.

 June Dudley brought us (the teaching staff) up and asked what our Quilting Super Power was. You don't get asked that everyday.   I had to think fast and came up with, "I can fuse in my sleep". 

 What's your Quilting Super Power?

A nice surprise was waiting for me in my stateroom.  Aren't they beautiful?

Can you believe it?!?!  I haven't posted market pictures yet. Take a look at the fun we had.

 My booth with some lights.  We had trouble with lighting so we called our booth "The Bat Cave"

Ackfeld Wire has the coolest hanger, it's a mantel stocking hanger

with the nativity all in a row.  

We put a rod in the Skinnie sleeve and placed it on the hooks for the

 stockings and it fit perfectly.

Quiltmakers Vol 9 100 Blocks!!!

Welcome blog hoppers!!
WOW!!  How time flies!  VOL 9  100 Blocks has hit the stands and boy I'm excited! 

 There are some wonderful, great and awesome blocks to play with from this issue.   My project list just got bigger again :).  Can't wait to get started. 

I was lucky enough to have one of my blocks chosen to be in this issue.  Hooray!

Block #898 - Two Tulips

I love flowers and was sketching one day and come up with this block.  And what perfect timing since my tulips are in full bloom right now!!  (but they are the only things in bloom, no green thumb here)

There are so many color ways for this block.  

Here's a quilt I designed in EQ7.

The size is 70" square.  How about doing just four blocks to finish a 30" square.

How about a long runner?!?

WIth EQ7 it's soooo easy to create all sorts of layouts and designs.

I get lost in it sometimes goofing around.

Let your mind go crazy with all that you can do with these 100 blocks. 

 Mix and match, add and duplicate, switch and turn.  The possibilities are endless.  Have fun!!

Kits, Kits and more Kits

I've been cutting for days!!  or so it seems.

Kits for the Alaskan Cruise I'm teaching on .  Did I tell you about that?  I'm off to ALASKA in a couple of months with an amazing group from Quiltmaker magazine!!!!!  And on a cruise no less!!!  I've  always wanted to go, kind of a bucket list thing and the chance comes up and I jump on it.  Here's the link to check in out.  Block Party with Quiltmaker.  Can't wait!!!

UFO projects.....

Done!  I finally worked on a few UFO's over the weekend.  It felt great having them finished!!  Even though they are small table runners, it's amazing how much time it takes to get things done.  

I used a double sided fusible batting from The Warm Company and I quilted these myself.  So my enormous UFO pile is now only huge instead.  Got to start somewhere, right??

Just keep sewing!

Guess What???!!!???

I'm going to be on TV!!!!  Can you believe it?!?  

I was asked to do a TV spot for The Warm Company, promoting my favorite product - Steam-A-Seam!  We shot video last weekend with an amazing group of people at KS Productions in Solon, Ohio.  

We had a fabulous time!!  Yes, I drug my hubby along to keep me company.

Here I am with Hostess, Susan Burbaker Knapp on set at Quilting Arts.  My segment will air this summer, I don't have a date yet.  More photo's to come.....
