New Moon

Here's the Halloween wall hanging that you can make in a jiffy.


supplies needed:



1/2 yard of black fabric, you will have left overs



1/2 yard white fabric, you will have left overs



3/8 yard orange border fabric



1/4 yard black for binding



scrap of purple for the bat 9"x5"



Steam-a-Seam fusible webbing









Cut 6 - white 6 7/8" squares




Cut 6 - black 6 7/8" squares

Cut 4 - black 6 1/2" squares, these are for you corners
Making half-square-triangles. With a ruler, draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of all the white 6 7/8" squares


Place right sides together of a white 6 7/8" square and a black 6 7/8" square.



Sew 1/4" on both sides of the pencil line


Press your block



With a rotary cutter, cut on the pencil line.



Press open to reveal you half-square triangles. Repeat this process on the other black and white 6 7/8" squares. You will have 12 half-square triangles when you are done.



With the 6 1/2" black squares in the corners, lay out your blocks in this manner. Sew together in rows. Sew rows together. Press seams as you go.



Follow instructions for tracing and fusing your bat onto your quilt top.



Blanket stitch or zig zag around bat image.



Cut two side borders 3 1/2". Measure the down the center of your quilt and cut you border to that lenght. Sew on side borders. Press your seams



Cut top and bottom borders 3 1/2". Measure through the center of your quilt top and cut the borders to that lenght. Sew in place. Press your seam. You are ready to have this quilted and bound, and hung up for Halloween.
