Fall colors

Fall has defiantly come.  We took a weekend trip to my uncles' cabin in Idaho
and this was the sight that greeted us.
The trees were just gorgeous.  I love to see the changing of the seasons, I think fall is one of my favorites.  It was great to have a break for the everyday bustle of life. At the cabin we always have tons of food, lots of laughs and very little sleep.  So it was great!!   I still did some work while we were there and learned how to crochet a doubled potholder.  Now it's back to work.  Happy sewing!

Button, Button, who has buttons

I do and I LOVE them.  Awhile back, like last year, I posted a fabric circle Christmas tree that had a bunch of buttons on it.  Well, this year I did a pumpkin.
Isn't it just too cute?  First of all I absolutely love, love, love pumpkins.  So naturally I thought, if I can do a tree why not a pumpkin.  My very talented husband made the great frame and I used my fun scraps from Skinnies projects for the circles.  I use Hill Creek Design buttons, which are just fabulous!  I enjoy using them any way I can.  If you haven't tried them you should.

Now what shape should I do next????  Shamrock for St' Patricks Day would be kind of fun.......

Something fun

Once in awhile, you just have to do something fun.   You know, to relieve some of the stresses in life.  So that's what I did.  I did a "me" project.
Here it is.  The fabric is a Riley Blake pirate line and the pattern is "Twist and Turn".    It's a fast quilt to make and I loved the fabrics.   This was a perfect project since it didn't take too much time.   I actually gave this away to a great friend as a gift.  Now back to work.

Remember:  Enter to win the fat quarter bundle on Monday Sept 3 post.  The contest goes until Saturday, Sept 8.
Happy sewing!

Contest Winner is

GENE BLACK!!!!

Gene has won the Aurifil Thread packs.  Congrats!!!
Oh my gosh, it was so fun reading about all of your upcoming projects.  I was inspired to make my own list of projects to get done, OK rather add to the list I already have.
I liked the comment about having to clean their sewing room first in order to start a
project only to mess it up again.  That was great!  I definitely do that too.
Thanks to all of you who stopped by and shared.
There will be another give away starting Monday.
Keep sewing and have a great weekend!!!
