Back to school already. I know I have mixed feelings about it. Excited that my kids will have new and fun adventures this year, not to mention I will get a whole lot more work done, and sad that they won't be at home all day. My kids are excited to start a new year, but hate the fact that they are going to have homework everyday. Oh well, life goes on.
Anyway to start the school year off with a bang, I thought I would do a few give aways in the next few weeks. So here's the first.
As you know, (if you have been following my blog) Quiltmaker has been doing the Scrap Squad post of "Old Glory" over the past weeks. So, I thought I would do my own scrappy version of my quilt to share with you, here's "Oh Scary"
I used only the Halloween fabrics I had in my stash for the strips, binding and back. "Cuddle", (by Shannon Fabric) was used for some of the strips, kind of a fun way to add texture and variety. I did have to go and buy fabric for the borders.
Now for the give away... see this cute little bundle of fabric below with the magazine,
This is the prize.
OK, now this bundle of fabrics is a started kit to make "Oh Scary". It has all the strips of fabrics I used in my quilt, cut no less. You add a few strips from your own stash, plus borders and you have your very own Halloween quilt.
Of course you're asking what you need to do to win this, right?? It's very simple.

I totally need a good win right now with all the stress of preparing for a new group of first graders! As a teacher, it's so hard to decide what my favorite school supply is, but I think it would have to be a box of crayons. *Fingers crossed*

ReplyDeleteI do love pens! I love a crisp new notebook to write in with them too. I just love going into the stationery store. Oooh it can be dangerous. I want to write pretty with them too. They need to be fine point, but they have to have a good flow to them. I'm really picky. Oh, and I love to have LOTS of pretty colors too.

when i was in school, i always liked getting the nice pens and colored pencils. i still like to get them, but just for my sketch book instead.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite school supply would have to be anything Crayola. Probably the colored pencils if I had to pick. Love all the colors, and everything that I can do with them. :)
ReplyDeletethe new planner every year is my favorite. Second is new highlighters. Now that I have a refillable calander that one is less fun. I am also obsessed with the fine point sharpies. I like lots basically!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid it was all about mechanical pencils. My mom would always buy a couple for us as a bribe. I always ran the lead out too fast breaking it but oh the memories.
ReplyDeleteAs for my kids I am SO EXCITED that school is starting I have ran out of good things for them to do and 3 weeks ago I decided no more TV and No more internet for the kids unless supervised so its been a long 3 weeks waiting for school to start.
